PayPal Ventures leads $52 million funding round for Web3 company Magic
San Francisco-based wallet-as-a-service (WaaS) provider Magic has raised $52 million in a strategic funding round led by PayPal Ventures, bringing the company's value to nearly $500 million. Other participants in the fund round include Cherubic, Synchrony, KX, Northzone and Volt Capital. The latest capital injection will be used to expand Magic's functionality and enable growing use cases. San Francisco-based wallet-as-a-service (WaaS) provider Magic has raised $52 million in a strategic funding round led by PayPal Ventures, bringing the company's value to nearly $500 million.

- Den Statistiken zufolge hat der WaaS-Anbieter mehr als 20 Millionen einzigartige Wallets produziert und sein SDK wird von über 130.000 Entwicklern verwendet. Die Skalierbarkeit von Magic ermöglicht über 2.000 Wallets pro Sekunde (WPS) im Vergleich zu den schnellsten Alternativen mit 80–100 WPS.
- Neben Magic setzen mehrere andere Unternehmen im Web3-Bereich auf das Wallet-as-a-Service-Modell, das es Benutzern ermöglicht, Krypto-Tools in ihre Abläufe einzubinden. Coinbase hat kürzlich die Einführung eines WaaS-Dienstes angekündigt, mit dem Unternehmen Blockchain-Wallets für ihre Kunden anpassen können.
