Coinbase Launches New Savings Account in the UK: Up to 3.75% Interest!
Coinbase launched its new savings account for GBP holdings in the UK on November 11, 2025. With an annual interest rate of 3.75% paid daily, the company appeals to a broader customer base interested in traditional financial products. This offering is designed in a regulated environment and is therefore different from traditional crypto earnings programs. Customers also have immediate access to their funds.
The balance is held with ClearBank and enjoys Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) protection up to £85,000. This measure is intended to give customers an additional feeling of security. Coinbase’s registration as a Virtual Asset Service Provider with the Financial Conduct Authority in 2023 has prepared the company for this step. The further regulatory scrutiny and fines that hit Coinbase in 2024 and 2025 led to major improvements in transaction monitoring and anti-money laundering.
Flexible account conditions
An outstanding feature of the savings account is that there is no minimum deposit amount and no lock-in periods. Withdrawals are possible at any time, making it a flexible product. The account allows users to transfer funds back to their GBP balance at any time to purchase crypto, make card payments or withdraw funds to their bank accounts. When funds are withdrawn or the account is closed, interest will stop accumulating, but the previously earned interest will remain.
Interest is variable and calculated daily. They will be added to the balance as soon as the amount reaches one penny. Changes in the interest rate may be made immediately for increases and with advance notice for decreases, unless these are directly linked to changes in the Bank of England's base rate.
Strategic direction of Coinbase
Coinbase is positioning this new savings account as part of its strategy to create a unified financial interface for traditional savings and digital assets. It complements existing products such as the Coinbase Card, stablecoin services and access to over 260 digital assets. This shows that the company is committed to further serving and expanding the largest market outside the US in the UK.
This is a significant step for Coinbase to gain a foothold in an increasingly regulated environment and provide customers with security and access to innovative financial services. The savings account rollout to select users begins today, with broader availability in the coming weeks.
