Enormous airdrop manipulation: 14,000 wallets demand 60% of the tokens!

In a remarkable revelation, a single entity operating through over 14,000 wallets claimed more than 60% of the aPriori airdrop. These wallets show disturbing coordination that points to automated mechanisms. According to crypto.news, the wallets were funded via the crypto exchange Binance with exactly 0.001 BNB for transaction fees and were created in tight time frames.

The claimed APR tokens were immediately routed to new wallets, indicating a strategic move to conceal true ownership. Bubblemaps documented this in a data visualization of the APR token distribution and discovered a dense network of connected wallets, which strengthens the suspicion of a Sybil attack. This incident is reminiscent of similar issues in token launches, where one entity claims a disproportionate amount of tokens by controlling numerous wallets.

Investigation and community response

On November 11, 2025, Bubblemaps reported that the entity in question continued to fund new wallets to increase its token holdings even further. Despite contacting the aPriori team, there was no response. In response, Bubblemaps has launched an investigative process that allows the community to vote on the prioritization of the BMT token issue.

Examples of similar incidents are increasing. In a previous airdrop by MYX Finance, for example, around 100 newly funded wallets claimed around 9.8 million MYX tokens, worth around $170 million. These wallets, funded through the OKX service, also had no prior history and claimed the tokens almost simultaneously on the day of the event. MYX Finance explained that their allocations were made based on trading volume and liquidity provision, but also cited inadequate anti-Sybil protections.

More incidents and technological challenges

Another example is the Avantis airdrop, where more than 300 addresses were used by a single entity to claim rewards. These wallets, funded through Coinbase, received USDC from a few senders, were inactive before the event, and then transferred tokens to major exchanges. The estimated value of this exploit is approximately $4 million.

Current developments make it clear that Sybil attacks are a recurring problem in the cryptocurrency sector. It remains to be seen how the community will react to the aPriori incident and what measures will be taken to protect the integrity of future token launches.
